Two children were killed after the vehicle they were traveling in was rear-ended by a drunk driver shortly after 2 a.m. Nov. 3. The deceased victims parents and a 12-year-old boy were also injured in the crash. Following the fatal accident, police confirmed that the driver at fault was under the influence of alcohol. At the time of the collision, the 29-year-old man responsible was found to have a blood-alcohol content that was three times the legal limit for Connecticut.

The victim’s car was struck from behind by an SUV. According to police, the drunk driver is thought to have been speeding before the crash. An 8-year-old and 5-year-old died as a result of the accident. The man responsible has been charged with manslaughter, driving under the influence and three counts of second-degree assault.
