The firm’s hallmark is meticulous, behind-the-scenes research and preparation. When attorneys Mike D’Amico, Mark Griffin and Tom Pettinicchi enter a courtroom, they come meticulously prepared—thanks to the significant legwork and background research conducted by their paralegals, clerical staff, receptionist and interns.
“If not for our staff, we wouldn’t be as successful as we are,” D’Amico says. “We work as a team.”
At D’Amico Griffin & Pettinicchi LLC, all team members play a supporting role and are valued highly.
“We are blessed to have some of the most experienced, well-respected, professional and committed staff providing the highest level of service
to our clients,” D’Amico says. “And with team effort comes job satisfaction and longevity.”
Staff longevity is as long as 17 years, and continuing. What makes D’Amico Griffin & Pettinicchi LLC so different? D’Amico believes that because the firm restricts its practice to personal injury, medical negligence and divorce, rather than general law, each team member becomes an expert.
“Our clients are gratified that we have such a knowledgeable, professional and comforting staff,” D’Amico says.
A talented staff, in combination with D’Amico’s two partners, make it possible for D’Amico to once again be named to this year’s Connecticut Super Lawyers® list. “Without the support of my partners—their participation in case strategy and trial—I wouldn’t be where I am today,” he says.
A leading trial lawyer with his team’s involvement and support, D’Amico has been blessed to be involved in a number of high-profile cases which have been covered by several local and national news sources, including The New York Times, The Hartford Courant, The Waterbury Republican American, The Bristol Press, ABC, NBC and CBS. Mike also serves on the Board of Governors of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association as well as their Legislative and Medical Malpractice Committees. He is board-certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a civil trial specialist, and serves on their Board of Examiners. Mike is a court-appointed arbitrator and fact-finder in civil litigation as well as a Special Settlement Master for personal injury claims for the State of Connecticut Superior Court. He is a life member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and frequently serves as trial counsel for local and out-of-state law firms. D’Amico has a special practice interest in wrongful death cases and has successfully resolved multiple claims that have resulted in substantial and just settlements and brought closure for the families.
“This is emotionally wrenching and complex work but truly professionally fulfilling. I feel a calling to help these families.”
